The Sound Garden

This is an amazing independent record store with a sister location in Syracuse. They have a large selection of indie music, a great used cd collection and well organized sections.

Sound Garden is a great place to buy music and support the local shop owners. They offer previewing of the CD's, you can buy a new release in advance and receive a special gift, and you can find a great selection of used CD's (often newer releases.) Great location, and parking to make it easy to run in and out of the store. The staff is friendly and knowledgable.

Not too many places still sell vinyls and the Sound Garden in Fells Point has the best selection. I have found some rare gems here. They also buy back records or Cd's at reasonable prices, so it's not unusual to find a few college kids in line selling their wares on a Friday night for that night's beer money. It is also a good idea to stop by often since the inventory changes daily.

Great place if you are looking for rare CDs or even vinyl! They also have a huge selection of used cds at reasonable prices. For latest concerts and things going on around downtown they always have pretty good insight. Good selection of band tshirts and DVDs as well.

Very good place if you are looking for music lovers. It has all different varities of CD's , movies and very good collection also. Located near to federall hill makes it convinient for the downtown people also to access. The parking here is not much. Really a good place to visit if u love music.

Soundgarden is a wonderful baltimore institution. One would be hard pressed to find a cd that Soundgarden doesn't carry. Be sure to check out the selection of used stuff - I've found some great deals on used dvd sets, as well as cds. The staff is knowledgeable and can help you find most anything in the store. Not that you'd need them though, because the cds are very well organized.

The Sound Garden is almost a legend in Baltimore among the music savvy population. Unfortunately, I am not very knowledgeable about music, so it is a bit overwhelming for me. The staff know their stuff but can be a bit brusque to the uninitiated (me, again). I find it to be the most fun with a friend who knows a lot about music.

This place has some awesome stuff. Hard to find records, vinyl, stuff you won't find in chain stores. Their prices are unbeatable--you can get used CDs in new condition for less that half the origional price! The staff can be pretentious, but what else would you want from a cool local indie music store? It adds to the appeal. Great location, great store. Check it out.
